පළමුවෙන් ඇසිය යුතුව තිබෙන්නේ, අද රටේ මූලිකවම විසඳිය යුතු ප්‍රශ්ණ අතුරින් මෙම ගැටළුවට හිමි වන්නේ කුමන ස්ථානයද යන්නයි.. දෙවන කරුණ නම් මහ ජනතාව යනුවෙන් හැඳින්වෙන ප්‍රධාන බලවේගයෙන් කුමන කොට්ඨාශයට මෙවන් කොඩියක අවශ්‍යතාවයක් දැනී ඇතිද කියන කරුණයි.
පක්ෂ පාට ආගම් කුල භේද අවැසි නැත. ඒකීය රටක, එකම කොඩියක් සෙවනේ අප සැවොම වෙසිය යුත. ඒකීය රටක්, එක කොඩියක් නමැති සංකල්පයක, රටවාසීන් සිටිය යුතුය. කුමන රජයක් කලත්, කුමන පුද්ගලයෙක් පෙරමුණ ගත්තත්, මෙවැනි අමන ක්‍රියා වලට මහ ජනතාව ලෙස අප සැවොම විරුද්ධ විය යුතුය.
පළමුව ජාතික ගීය වෙනත් බසකින් ගයන්නට නීතිමය අවසර ලැබිණ. එමඟින් දැමූ මුට්ටිය, යම් යම් පළුදුවීම් සමඟ සිදු වුවත් සාර්ථක විය. දැන් ඔළුවම දමන්නට යන්නේ ජාතික කොඩියේ මුවාවෙනි..
ආදරණීය නායකතුමනි.. අප ඔබතුමන්ලා මෙන් නොවේය.. සිංහල, දෙමල, මුස්ලිම්, බර්ගර්, යනුවෙන් ජාතිභේද අපට නැත. අපි සැවොම ඔබගේ පාලනය යටතේ ජීවත් වන මිනිසුන්ය... එනිසා අප සිත් තුල වෙනත් අන්තගාමී අදහස් වැපිරවීමට කටයුතු නොකරන ලෙසට කාරුණිකව ඉල්ලා සිටිමු...
නමුත් අප අවධානයෙන් සිටිමු. මෙම වැඩ පිළිවෙළට අත උස්සන සියළු දෙනාට මෑත ආනගතයේ අප ඉදිරියට ඒමට සිදු වේ.. ඒ අපේ මනාපය සඳහාය. පොළවේ වෙසෙන අපට භේද නැත.. අප සිංහලය, දමිළය, මුස්ලිම්ය, බර්ගර්ය.... අපට අවශ්‍යව ඇත්තේ එකම එක රටක් පමණි.. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් ඡන්ද පෙට්ටියට වැටෙනුයේ කිසිදු භේදයක් නොමැති කතිරයක් පමණි.. ඔබේ අවධානය ඒ පිළිබඳව පමණක් යොමු කරමු.
The foremost important question is what is the position of this issue in the country's priority list. The secondly important question is what part of the general population wants this so called 'Separate National Flag'.
Regardless of politics and ethnicity we can live under one National Flag. All the people should live in a concept which speaks of a united country and a singular National flag. Regardless of the government, ethnicity and the persons we as public should stand against such idiocy.
First a permission to sing the National anthem in a different language was granted. The first effort was a success with a few stains. Now the National Flag is on the table.
Dear Mr.President / Prime Minister, we are not similar to you. We Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers do not have racist minds. We all are people under your rule. So it is our humble notice to you that any effort in implanting racism or such emotions in our heads will go in vain.
We are indeed on alert. Everyone who raise their hands to vote such a disaster will have to come forward us beg for votes. Us living on the grounds do not have any problem being Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and burghers. We are in need of nothing else but a united country. On the contrary any vote falls into the ballot box will be of no division. Better if you pay attention to the above fact.
